A New Chapter for Savannah Music Festival: Celebrating Our Co-Founder, Dr. Sinisa Ciric

We are thrilled to share exciting news from Savannah’s vibrant arts community: our co-founder, Dr. Sinisa Ciric, has been appointed as the Executive Director of the Savannah Music Festival (SMF)—one of the South’s most celebrated and distinctive music festivals.
A visionary leader, accomplished violinist, and passionate educator, Sinisa brings three decades of artistic and executive experience to this role. His appointment marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for SMF, as the organization continues its mission to present exceptional live music, foster education, and unite communities through the arts.
Sinisa assumes this position after a remarkable 15-year tenure with the Savannah Philharmonic, where he served as Concertmaster, Director of Artistic Operations, and most recently, General Manager. His leadership has shaped Savannah’s cultural landscape, and his new role reflects a continued commitment to strengthening collaboration, innovation, and community impact in the arts.
“Savannah Music Festival is a cornerstone of our city’s cultural life, and I am honored to help lead its next chapter,” Sinisa said. “Savannah is home—for me, for my family, and for the community we love. I am committed to building on the Festival’s extraordinary legacy while working to deepen its impact, expand access to music education, and welcome even more people into the beauty and energy of live performance.”
Beyond his leadership roles, Sinisa is known internationally as a performer and for his dedication to mentoring young musicians. He has directed educational programs, led chamber music initiatives, and was selected as one of only 36 professionals worldwide for the League of American Orchestras’ Essentials of Orchestra Management Program in partnership with Juilliard Extension.
